BionIT Labs Brings Human Dexterity to Humanoid Robots

BionIT Labs

BionIT Labs, a developer of human–machine interface technologies, has announced the commercial availability of Adam’s Hand for integration into humanoid and service robotics platforms, marking a significant step toward closing the gap between artificial intelligence and physical-world interaction.

The announcement follows the system’s public debut at CES 2026, where Adam’s Hand was demonstrated on two humanoid robots, highlighting advanced dexterity, grip reliability, and human-scale manipulation capabilities. The platform is designed to provide robotics developers with high-fidelity manipulation hardware paired with real-world data, addressing a longstanding limitation in Physical AI systems.

Originally developed within BionIT Labs’ advanced prosthetics programs, Adam’s Hand has evolved into an AI-native dexterity platform engineered for continuous robotic operation. The company positions the system as foundational infrastructure for embodied intelligence, enabling AI systems to translate reasoning and planning into precise physical actions.

“AI can reason, plan, and predict, but without dexterity, it cannot act,” said Giovanni Zappatore, Founder and CEO of BionIT Labs. “Adam’s Hand is designed to bring AI into direct contact with the real world through reliable, embodied interaction.”

At CES 2026, Adam’s Hand was showcased on Robee R, an industrial humanoid developed in collaboration with STMicroelectronics, where it demonstrated functional grip strength and operational reliability in industrial scenarios. The system was also integrated into Robee M, a medical humanoid presented at the Intel booth, illustrating safe and natural interaction in healthcare-focused environments.

BionIT Labs is offering Adam’s Hand as an integration-ready solution for robotics manufacturers, research institutions, and system integrators. The company supports applied testing, performance validation, and collaborative development in real operating conditions.

The robotics work at BionIT Labs follows safety, ethics, and compliance frameworks derived from its medical-device heritage, including human-centered design principles and responsible handling of human-related data. Adam’s Hand for Physical AI systems is available immediately for proof-of-concept deployments and commercial robotics programs.
