Mecademic Inc. has raised CAD 21 million (approximately USD 15.3 million) in strategic funding to support its next phase of global expansion and product innovation.

The investment was led by Investissement Québec, with additional participation from Export Development Canada and Business Development Bank of Canada. The company said the capital will be used to expand its product portfolio, scale international operations, and establish a new headquarters to address increasing global demand.

CEO Philippe Beaulieu stated that the automation sector is entering a period of rapid acceleration. He noted that the funding will allow Mecademic to strengthen its global footprint and continue advancing its position in micro-automation. The company plans to increase investments across the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific markets.

Headquartered in Montreal, Mecademic specializes in compact, high-precision industrial robotic arms. Its systems are designed for applications where space is limited and precision is critical. The robots are used in sectors such as electronics, optics, medical devices, and biotechnology. These industries require high-speed automation within tight production environments and laboratory settings where traditional robotic systems may not fit.

Bicha Ngo, President and CEO of Investissement Québec, described Mecademic as a key Quebec-based leader in precision automation. She said the investment will help scale production capacity, reinforce governance, and support the company’s international growth strategy.

Since 2022, Mecademic has transitioned into a more globally focused organization. Governance has been strengthened with the appointment of Dominique Jodoin as Chairman of the Board and David Massé as Chief Financial Officer. The founding team continues to lead core operations, including technology innovation, research and development, and global operations management.
