Gemtek has unveiled its Wi-Fi 8 strategy at Mobile World Congress 2026, outlining a shift from bandwidth-driven networks to AI-powered, service-oriented connectivity.
Under the theme “From Speed to Intelligence,” Gemtek presented an integrated portfolio built around Wi-Fi 8, Wi-Fi over mmWave Technology (WoMT), Edge AI, and its AI OSM (Open Standard Module) platform. The company said the combined technologies enable broadband networks to become intelligent platforms capable of real-time monitoring, adaptive optimization, and advanced service delivery.
Gemtek’s Wi-Fi 8 solutions are designed to deliver deterministic low latency and carrier-grade reliability. They also support multi-AP coordination and AI-assisted performance optimization. These capabilities target immersive applications, real-time AI services, and large-scale enterprise and residential deployments.
To address rising demand for high-capacity Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), Gemtek introduced WoMT. The solution extends Wi-Fi 7 baseband technology into the 5G FR2 mmWave spectrum. This enables multi-gigabit speeds while easing congestion in the FR1 spectrum. The company said WoMT can also serve as a cost-effective alternative for cellular tower backhaul.
At the edge, Gemtek showcased AI-enabled gateways and routers with embedded computing capabilities. By processing AI workloads locally within customer premises equipment, the systems reduce latency and enhance data privacy. They also lower dependence on centralized cloud infrastructure.
Gemtek said the integration of Wi-Fi 8, WoMT, Edge AI, and AI OSM will help service providers evolve into AI service enablers. The company is demonstrating its next-generation connectivity solutions at Hall 5, Stand E11 during the event.
