Amtech Names Semiconductor Veteran Guy Shechter as President

APPOINTED

Amtech Systems (NASDAQ: ASYS) has appointed Guy Shechter as President and Chief Operating Officer, effective May 19, 2026, as the company strengthens its leadership team to support growth in AI semiconductor packaging and advanced substrate fabrication.

In his new role, Shechter will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Bob Daigle. The position has been newly created as Amtech seeks to expand its portfolio and scale operations in response to rising demand across advanced semiconductor packaging applications.

Announcing the appointment, Daigle said Shechter brings extensive commercial, operational, and leadership experience from the semiconductor equipment industry, along with a strong track record in driving profitability and business growth. He added that Shechter’s industry relationships and expertise would support Amtech’s expansion strategy in AI-driven semiconductor assembly and packaging technologies.

Before joining Amtech, Shechter held leadership roles at Yield Engineering Systems from 2021 to 2026, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and General Manager. Earlier, he spent more than a decade at Veeco Instruments, where he held several executive positions, including Vice President and General Manager of Global Services Solutions.

Shechter holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
