Insta360 has announced the Luna Ultra, an 8K dual-lens gimbal camera developed in partnership with Leica and designed for high-end action, sports, and cinematic content creation. Retailer B&H has begun sharing product details for the new camera and the accompanying Mic Pro wireless audio system.

The Luna Ultra combines a 1-inch CMOS primary sensor with a 1/1.3-inch telephoto sensor, both paired with Leica Summicron lenses. The camera supports recording at up to 8K at 30 fps, while a built-in triple AI processing chip handles image processing, subject tracking, and camera control functions.

Insta360 said two of the AI chips are dedicated to imaging tasks, improving low-light performance and autofocus accuracy for fast-moving subjects. The camera also offers 10-bit I-Log recording, Leica color profiles, cinematic filters, and approximately 14 stops of dynamic range.

A key design feature is the detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen, which can function as a wireless remote monitor and microphone transmitter with HD video transmission up to 65 feet. The camera includes 47 GB of internal storage, 3-axis stabilization, AI tracking, and an estimated four-hour battery life during stabilized shooting.

Alongside the camera, Insta360 introduced the Mic Pro wireless audio system featuring E-Ink displays and 32-bit float internal recording, targeting creators who require greater flexibility in post-production audio workflows.

Pricing and availability details are expected through B&H and Insta360 sales channels.
