Mitel has introduced the H60 DECT Headset, an enterprise communications device designed to bring AI-powered voice assistance and hands-free collaboration to frontline workers in industries including healthcare, retail, manufacturing and government.
The headset, which will be available globally from July 31, integrates with Mitel’s communications platform and Workflow Studio software, enabling employees to access AI-powered workflows, retrieve business information and communicate with colleagues without interrupting their tasks.
The launch reflects growing enterprise demand for AI tools that support frontline workers, as organisations look to improve productivity, safety and operational efficiency beyond traditional office environments.
Unlike conventional enterprise headsets, the H60 combines SIP-DECT communications with voice activation, push-to-talk functionality and speech-to-text and text-to-speech capabilities. Workers can trigger AI-assisted workflows using voice commands to check inventory, update tasks, retrieve customer information or access operational guidance.
Mitel said the headset operates on its SIP-DECT infrastructure, providing wireless connectivity designed for large facilities where uninterrupted communications are critical. The device also integrates with Mitel Workflow Studio to relay alerts from connected enterprise systems, including nurse call platforms, fire alarm systems, industrial equipment and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
“Research shows that 71% of frontline workers feel pressured to make it work with tools that were never designed for their needs,” Martin Bitzinger, Senior Vice President of Product Management at Mitel, said in a statement.
He said integrating AI, voice automation and real-time enterprise data into a wearable device enables frontline employees to access information more quickly while remaining connected during time-sensitive operations.
The H60 is designed to connect with customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, allowing organisations to incorporate hands-free communications into existing business workflows without extensive software development.
Mitel outlined several industry-specific applications for the device. In retail, employees can check product availability, pricing and delivery information while assisting customers or discreetly request support during busy periods. In healthcare, nurses can receive assignments, confirm completed tasks, access patient information and medication reminders, or request specialist assistance using voice commands. Manufacturing and logistics teams can receive broadcast instructions, participate in instant team communications and support hands-free operations on production floors.
The headset also integrates with Mitel’s SIP-DECT Event Manager, allowing operational alerts from enterprise systems to be automatically routed to designated employees. The company said the platform also supports integration with third-party AI services, including Symphony AI, through Workflow Studio.
The H60 includes programmable multifunction keys that allow users to activate AI services, initiate push-to-talk group communications, contact predefined teams or managers, and send alerts to colleagues or security personnel. The lightweight device also features digital signal processing-based noise reduction and acoustic echo cancellation to improve voice quality in noisy environments.
