TP-Link Systems Inc. has unveiled what it describes as the world’s first complete Wi-Fi 8 product lineup at IFA 2026, led by the Archer 8 Ultra router and Deco 8 Ultra mesh system, as networking companies begin preparing for the next generation of wireless connectivity.
The new products are built around the upcoming IEEE 802.11bn standard and are designed to focus on connection reliability alongside higher wireless speeds. TP-Link said the lineup will use Wi-Fi 8 chipsets from Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO), Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) and MediaTek (TWSE: 2454), combined with its hardware and software engineering capabilities.
Unlike previous Wi-Fi generations that have largely emphasized peak throughput, Wi-Fi 8 is being developed to address problems such as coverage gaps, network congestion and interference. TP-Link said its Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine, which forms the basis of the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra, is designed to improve coverage, manage competing devices and maintain more consistent connections.
The StabilityEngine incorporates several technologies associated with the emerging Wi-Fi 8 specification. Enhanced Long Range (ELR) and Distributed Resource Units (DRU) are intended to improve coverage at the edges of a home and uplink performance for distant, low-power devices.
Non-Primary Channel Access (NPCA) is designed to keep networks responsive when multiple devices are connected simultaneously. Unequal Modulation (UEQM), along with new Modulation and Coding Schemes (MCS), is intended to help maintain throughput when wireless interference affects network conditions.
The Archer 8 Ultra BN19000, also referred to as Archer BN800, is a tri-band Wi-Fi 8 router with aggregate wireless speeds of up to 19 Gbps and wired connectivity of up to 10 Gbps. It uses 18 internal high-performance antennas designed to support consistent coverage across the home.
The Deco 8 Ultra BN22000, or Deco BN85, is a tri-band Wi-Fi 8 mesh system rated for aggregate wireless speeds of up to 22 Gbps and wired connectivity of up to 10 Gbps. A three-pack is designed to cover as much as 9,800 square feet and support more than 200 connected devices.
TP-Link is also positioning the new hardware as part of a broader shift in how networking equipment is integrated into homes. The Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra were designed in California with an emphasis on placing the devices in visible areas where wireless performance can benefit.
The Archer 8 Ultra uses a minimalist, architectural design with a dual-tone grille, micropatterns and a soft status light intended to replace conventional indicator LEDs. The Deco 8 Ultra features rounded edges, a compact footprint, a matte exterior and a glossy upper surface.
“We stopped building a piece of networking equipment and started designing for the home,” said Gary Chang, who leads industrial design at TP-Link’s Irvine headquarters.
The company plans to begin pre-orders for the Archer 8 Ultra in select regions on September 30, 2026. Additional Wi-Fi 8 products are scheduled to follow, although TP-Link cautioned that availability and specifications may vary by market and remain subject to change.
The Deco 8 mesh system is planned for launch in the first quarter of 2027, followed by the Roam 8 Wi-Fi 8 travel router in the second quarter. Wi-Fi 8 range extenders and adapters are also planned for the second quarter of 2027.
