RoboParty launched its RP1 (ROBOTO 01) humanoid robotics platform in Southeast Asia on October 15, 2026, targeting universities, researchers and developers working on robotics and embodied artificial intelligence. The platform combines an open architecture with hardware, control systems, simulation and development tools designed to support advanced research.
RP1 is designed to let researchers modify and validate components across the robotics stack, from mechanical systems and actuators to control software and AI models. Its architecture includes RoboParty’s ROMOMO actuator modules, low-level control systems, simulation capabilities, software development kits (SDKs) and training tools.
The company said the platform allows developers to trace problems across AI policies, control systems and physical execution, helping them optimize robot performance across the complete system.
Open Architecture for Humanoid Research
RP1 is intended for research involving humanoid locomotion, control systems and embodied AI, where AI models interact with and learn from the physical environment.
The platform includes motion capabilities such as continuous walking, recovery from disturbances and standing up after a fall. RoboParty said these functions can reduce the need for researchers to repeatedly develop basic movement skills, allowing them to focus on model training, locomotion research and more complex task validation.
The company’s PartyOS development framework connects motion retargeting, policy training, simulation-based validation and deployment on physical robots. This workflow is designed to link development in simulated environments with testing on actual hardware.
An open architecture can give research teams greater control over hardware and software configurations. It can also make it easier to investigate how individual components affect overall performance. RoboParty did not disclose RP1 pricing, detailed hardware specifications or availability by country.
RPO Targets Robotics Education
RP1 builds on RoboParty’s RPO, a do-it-yourself humanoid robotics kit designed for robotics education, hands-on learning and early-stage embodied AI development.
RPO provides publicly available mechanical, electrical, training and deployment resources. Users can assemble the robot, examine its components and modify its capabilities. According to RoboParty, the project has received more than 2,600 stars on GitHub and has been replicated by more than 100 users.
The two platforms serve different requirements. RPO provides an entry point for students and developers learning about humanoid robotics, while RP1 targets more advanced research involving locomotion, control and embodied AI.
Expanding Access to Open Robotics
The launch gives universities and research institutions in Southeast Asia another option for developing and testing humanoid robotics systems. Access to modifiable hardware and software can support teaching, experimentation and collaborative research, although practical adoption will depend on cost, technical support and the resources available to individual institutions.
RoboParty’s approach centers on providing platforms that developers can adapt to different research objectives rather than requiring teams to work within a fixed system. The company has not announced institutional partnerships or deployment figures associated with the Southeast Asian launch.
