Intel Appoints Aparna Bawa as Chief Legal Officer

APPOINTED

Intel has appointed Aparna Bawa as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal & People Officer, strengthening its leadership team as the company advances its transformation agenda. Bawa will report directly to CEO Lip-Bu Tan and will lead Intel’s global legal, ethics, compliance, as well as people and culture functions.

The appointment reflects Intel’s continued focus on aligning governance and workforce strategy with its long-term business priorities, particularly as it navigates a rapidly evolving semiconductor landscape shaped by AI-driven demand and global competition.

Bawa joins Intel from Zoom Video Communications, where she served as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing key operational, legal, and people functions during a phase of significant global expansion. She is widely recognized for her ability to integrate culture, governance, and execution in high-growth environments.

At Intel, she will be responsible for strengthening the company’s legal and compliance framework while advancing a high-performance, people-centric culture. Her role will also include shaping leadership development, talent strategy, and organizational effectiveness as Intel seeks to enhance agility and execution.

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan highlighted the importance of integrated legal and people leadership in driving transformation, noting that Bawa brings a combination of operational rigor, business acumen, and people-first leadership. Her experience in scaling technology organizations is expected to support Intel’s next phase of growth.

Prior to her role at Zoom, Bawa held senior positions across the technology sector, building expertise in corporate governance, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational transformation.

Bawa described Intel as being at a pivotal moment, emphasizing her focus on building strong systems, culture, and trust to enable teams to deliver effectively for customers and stakeholders.

She is set to join Intel in May, marking a key addition to the company’s leadership.
