SkyWater Technology (NASDAQ: SKYT) has appointed Christine Dunbar as Senior Vice President of Sales and Solutions Engineering. She will report to President and COO John Sakamoto. The move strengthens the company’s commercial leadership as it expands U.S. manufacturing capacity.
Dunbar will lead customer acquisition and growth across SkyWater’s core platforms. The appointment comes as the company builds commercial momentum and integrates its recently acquired 200mm Fab 25 facility. SkyWater is the largest exclusively U.S.-based pure-play semiconductor foundry. It serves both commercial and government markets.
CEO Thomas Sonderman said the company’s strategy is built on translating customer needs into scalable semiconductor platforms. He noted that strong commercial leadership is essential to sustain long-term partnerships. He added that Dunbar’s technical background and business experience will support growth across key sectors.
Dunbar brings nearly three decades of semiconductor experience. Her career spans advanced technology development and high-volume manufacturing. Most recently, she led strategic partnership development at Natcast. There, she supported collaboration across the U.S. semiconductor ecosystem.
She previously held senior roles at IBM Microelectronics, GlobalFoundries and IQE. Her responsibilities included leading global commercial teams and managing multi-billion-dollar product portfolios.
Dunbar said SkyWater has built a strong foundation in trusted semiconductor solutions. She emphasized collaboration across the supply chain. She also highlighted the importance of scaling domestic capabilities to deliver value to customers.
