Caliber Interconnects Gains ARAI Approval for Indigenous EV Chargers

EV Charger - Caliber

Caliber Interconnects Private Ltd. has received certification from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for its electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions.

ARAI certification is a critical requirement for EV equipment deployed across residential, commercial, fleet, and public charging networks in India. The approval confirms that Caliber’s charging systems meet national standards for safety, performance, and environmental compliance.

The certification covers Caliber’s full range of EV charging products. This includes AC chargers rated at 3.3 kW, 7.4 kW, and 22 kW, hybrid chargers offering 30 kW DC and 22 kW AC output, and DC fast chargers ranging from 30 kW to 240 kW. The portfolio also features DC chargers designed specifically for two-wheelers, available in 3 kW and 6 kW configurations.

According to the company, the diversified portfolio is aimed at supporting India’s varied EV use cases, from home charging and workplace installations to high-capacity public and fleet charging stations.

“All chargers have been designed to meet Indian operating conditions and regulatory requirements,” said Suresh Babu, Founder and CEO of Caliber Interconnects. He added that ARAI certification validates the company’s focus on building locally engineered and manufactured charging systems that can scale with India’s EV adoption.

Caliber’s EV chargers are powered by Cogency, its in-house smart-charging platform. Cogency enables real-time monitoring, remote diagnostics, and predictive maintenance. The platform is compliant with Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) versions 1.6 and 2.0.1, ensuring interoperability across charging networks and backend systems. It supports both Android and iOS environments, allowing operators to manage chargers remotely and at scale.

Industry observers note that certified and interoperable charging solutions are becoming essential as utilities, charge point operators, and OEMs accelerate EV infrastructure rollouts across cities and highways.

At a time when the Indian EV charging market remains heavily dependent on imported equipment, Caliber Interconnects is positioning itself as a domestic alternative. The company said its chargers are designed and manufactured in India, with a focus on long-term reliability, serviceability, and compliance.

With ARAI certification secured, Caliber Interconnects is expected to expand its participation in upcoming EV infrastructure projects, supporting India’s broader transition toward electric mobility and clean energy.
