VIAVI Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAV), a global leader in test and measurement and optical technologies, has introduced the DCX 700, a tier 1 optical loss test set capable of testing up to 24 fibers simultaneously, targeting faster certification in high-density data center environments.
Announced from Chandler, Arizona, the DCX 700 is designed to simplify multifiber testing as cloud infrastructure scales and fiber density increases. The platform offers native support for 12-, 16-, and 24-fiber configurations. This eliminates the need for Y-cables and reduces complex reference procedures, helping technicians complete more certifications per shift.
A key feature of the DCX 700 is its one-cord referencing workflow. The automated process simplifies setup, lowers the risk of errors, and reduces onboarding time for new technicians. According to Kevin Oliver, Vice President and General Manager of Fiber and Access Solutions at VIAVI, demand for fast, accurate, and repeatable fiber certification continues to grow as hyperscale and enterprise data centers expand.
The DCX 700 supports tier 1 certification aligned with industry standards for data center fiber infrastructure. It incorporates modular adaptors, enabling compatibility with both current and emerging connectivity types. The device is also built for field durability, featuring a rugged design and extended-life battery intended to support full-day operations.
The launch strengthens VIAVI’s multifiber testing portfolio, which now includes the INX 700 probe microscopes. The INX 700 models share a high-capacity battery system with the DCX 700 and are designed for automated inspection of single and multifiber connectors. These tools are engineered specifically for hyperscale data center environments, where inspection speed and battery longevity are critical operational requirements.
The DCX 700 has received a 4.0 rating in the 2026 Lightwave Innovation Reviews, reflecting industry recognition for its design and performance.
