ATL Medical Integrates OMNIVISION ISP into PREVOYANCE Imaging System

OVMed OH0131 image signal processor

OMNIVISION and ATL Medical Inc. have announced the integration of OMNIVISION’s OVMed OH0131 image signal processor (ISP) into ATL Medical’s PREVOYANCE® Complete Imaging System, aimed at advancing medical visualization capabilities in arthroscopy and related procedures.

The PREVOYANCE system is designed as a turnkey, white-label imaging solution that enables original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to accelerate time-to-market while maintaining high imaging performance. The platform, which incorporates Chip-on-Tip technology for arthroscope camera units, is often paired with a camera control unit (CCU) to support imaging, processing, and storage.

At the core of the integration is the OVMed OH0131 ISP, a medical-grade processor engineered to deliver high-fidelity imaging in real-time. The ISP is optimized for use in handheld consoles and CCUs, supporting multi-image configurations and addressing key clinical requirements such as accurate color reproduction, advanced noise reduction, and stable performance under variable lighting conditions.

Medical imaging environments present unique technical challenges, including the presence of smoke, blood, reflections, and shadows, which can impact image clarity. The OH0131 ISP is designed to overcome these constraints by enabling low-latency processing, managing high data volumes, and supporting advanced image analysis features such as automated segmentation and feature extraction.

The integrated solution combines hardware and system-level capabilities developed by both companies. OMNIVISION provides the kernel board, which includes the OH0131 ISP responsible for processing raw image data received from sensors. ATL Medical has designed the host system, which receives processed data via a MIPI interface and displays it through an HDMI-connected screen.

Beyond the imaging subsystem, ATL Medical delivers full system integration, including optics, illumination, cabling, interconnects, and ergonomic design. This end-to-end approach allows OEMs to deploy complete imaging solutions either as standalone systems or as integrated components within existing platforms.

According to ATL Medical, the collaboration simplifies the design process for device manufacturers while enhancing overall system performance. The companies aim to support healthcare providers with improved visualization tools that can contribute to more precise diagnostics and surgical outcomes.
