Fortanix and NTT DATA have announced a partnership to help enterprises deploy secure and sovereign AI Factories using NVIDIA Confidential Computing technology.
The collaboration aims to address growing concerns around data sovereignty, regulatory compliance and model security as Indian enterprises scale AI infrastructure for large-scale training and inference workloads.
The joint offering combines Fortanix’s data security platform with NTT DATA’s full lifecycle managed services. It is built on NVIDIA Confidential Computing GPUs and attestation services. The companies say the integrated solution enables organizations to protect sensitive data and AI models not only at rest and in transit, but also while in use.
As AI Factory deployments increase, enterprises are facing heightened scrutiny around lawful data processing and governance. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) imposes strict obligations on how personal and sensitive data is collected, processed and stored. Traditional AI infrastructure models, which often lack hardware-based security controls during computation, may not meet these regulatory requirements.
Fortanix and NTT DATA say their solution leverages hardware-based trusted execution environments within NVIDIA GPUs. This approach ensures that data remains encrypted and protected even during active processing. According to the companies, cryptographic controls prevent unauthorized access or tampering, including from privileged system operators.
NTT DATA will provide advisory and implementation services to support DPDP compliance. Its managed services include architecture design, integration of Fortanix and NVIDIA technologies, and governance, risk and compliance management. The companies position the service as an end-to-end offering for enterprises seeking verifiable trust in AI operations.
Sheetal Mehta, Global Head of Cybersecurity Solutions and Services at NTT DATA, said AI Factories present significant opportunities for Indian businesses. However, she emphasized that trust and regulatory compliance must be foundational. By combining AI infrastructure expertise with confidential computing, the partnership aims to enable innovation without compromising data sovereignty obligations.
The solution targets highly regulated industries. These include financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, manufacturing and the public sector. Key capabilities include secure processing of sensitive and personal data, protection of proprietary AI models and intellectual property, and policy-based controls to support auditability.
Anuj Jaiswal, Chief Product Officer at Fortanix, said large-scale AI adoption depends on trust. He noted that protecting data and models during computation is essential to unlocking AI’s value in regulated environments.
The service is now available to enterprises across India through NTT DATA’s business and technology services portfolio.
