Infineon Partners Zenergize for India’s Energy Transition

Collaborate

Infineon Technologies AG has entered into a strategic technology partnership with Zenergize to support the development of India-designed power-electronics solutions for the country’s evolving energy ecosystem. The announcement was made at the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, held at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi.

The collaboration is focused on enabling high-performance solutions for applications such as solar power, electric vehicle (EV) charging, and energy storage systems. As part of the partnership, Infineon will provide its advanced wide-bandgap (WBG) semiconductor technologies, including silicon carbide (SiC), along with engineering support for system-level integration. The agreement is centered on technology and product integration and does not involve the formation of a joint venture.

Infineon’s SiC-based power semiconductors are designed to deliver improved energy efficiency, reduced power losses, and higher power density compared to traditional silicon-based components. These capabilities are expected to enhance the performance of solar inverters, enable faster and more reliable EV charging infrastructure, and improve the efficiency of energy storage systems, particularly under India’s varied and often demanding environmental conditions.

According to Jens Reinstaedt, India represents one of the most significant global opportunities in energy transition. He noted that Infineon’s portfolio spans multiple semiconductor materials, including silicon, silicon carbide, and gallium nitride, enabling comprehensive system-level solutions that support partners in building efficient and reliable power-electronics products.

Veer Karan Goyal emphasized that access to globally proven semiconductor technology, combined with local engineering expertise, will enable the development of solutions tailored to Indian operating conditions. He added that the collaboration positions Zenergize to create products designed in India for both domestic and global markets.

The partnership aligns with India’s broader push toward strengthening domestic capabilities in critical technologies. Government initiatives such as PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, along with rapid expansion in EV infrastructure and energy storage, are driving demand for advanced power-electronics systems.

Infineon, which has maintained a presence in India for nearly three decades, is positioning itself as a long-term technology partner in this transition. With over 2,500 employees across multiple locations in the country, the company continues to support local innovation while leveraging its global expertise.
