Louisville, Colorado-based Infleqtion has appointed J. Eric Bjornholt to its Board of Directors, effective immediately, as the company moves closer to a planned public listing. The appointment adds senior financial leadership to the board at a pivotal stage in Infleqtion’s growth and capital markets journey.

Infleqtion is a global player in quantum sensing and quantum computing, with systems built on neutral-atom technology. The company announced in September that it intends to go public through a business combination with Churchill Capital Corp X (NASDAQ: CCCX), a special purpose acquisition company. The transaction is expected to position Infleqtion as a publicly traded company focused on scaling quantum technologies for real-world applications.

Bjornholt brings more than 30 years of experience in finance, accounting, and corporate governance. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Microchip Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHP), a global semiconductor company with a market capitalization exceeding $40 billion. Bjornholt joined Microchip in 1995 and has held the CFO role since 2009, overseeing financial strategy through multiple growth cycles and acquisitions.

Before joining Microchip, Bjornholt worked at KPMG LLP. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has extensive experience in public company reporting, risk management, and board-level governance. At Infleqtion, he will also serve as Chair of the Board’s Audit Committee.

Infleqtion Chief Executive Officer Matt Kinsella said Bjornholt’s appointment strengthens the company’s leadership as it prepares for life as a public company. He highlighted Bjornholt’s experience in public-market operations, long-term planning, and financial discipline as critical assets during the next phase of growth.

Bjornholt said he is joining the board at a time of significant momentum for the company. He noted Infleqtion’s expanding technology portfolio and its position within a rapidly developing quantum market. He added that he looks forward to supporting the company as it scales operations, deepens partnerships, and reinforces its leadership in quantum technologies.

Infleqtion’s product portfolio spans quantum computers, quantum optical clocks, RF receivers, and inertial sensors. These systems are designed for deployment beyond laboratory environments and are supported by the company’s proprietary software platforms. Infleqtion’s technologies are already in use by organizations including the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, and the U.K. government. The company also collaborates with NVIDIA on multiple initiatives.

Bjornholt holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Arizona and a master’s degree in Taxation from Arizona State University.
