Ambi Robotics Unveils AI Skill Suite for Industrial Automation

Ambi Robotics Co-Founder and CTO Jeff Mahler explains AmbiOS

Ambi Robotics has unveiled AI Skill Suite, a new expansion of its AmbiOS Physical AI platform, aimed at accelerating the deployment of production-proven robotic intelligence across commercial industries. The company announced that the suite will offer a growing library of standardized 3D AI robot applications available for licensing by select partners.

AmbiOS serves as the software backbone of Ambi Robotics’ systems, connecting robotic hardware with operational infrastructure to enable industrial-grade reliability. By abstracting hardware complexity, the platform allows AI applications to operate across different robotic form factors and third-party systems. The architecture is designed to create a data-rich ecosystem, where real-world operational feedback continuously refines the company’s underlying AI foundation models.

“The hardest challenge in robotics is not demonstrating intelligence in a lab, but enabling robots to rapidly adapt to economically valuable work with industrial reliability,” said Jeff Mahler, Co-founder and CTO of Ambi Robotics. He noted that deploying hundreds of robots in live production environments has enabled the company to train and scale its physical AI models through real-world operations. The new AI Skill Suite makes these production-hardened capabilities accessible in modular applications that integrate perception, reasoning, and manipulation into diverse robotic systems.

The AI Skill Suite includes capabilities such as Item Intelligence, Inspection, Dexterous Picking, and Precision Placement. These skills are powered by PRIME-1, Ambi Robotics’ vertically integrated AI foundation model. According to the company, PRIME-1 leverages advanced 3D reasoning and achieves more than 99.9% uptime. The model has been trained using over 250,000 production hours and data from 150 million consumer packages processed across a nationwide fleet.

Ambi Robotics reports that global automation providers and Fortune 500 shipping companies have already licensed its AI skills. The company attributes accelerated product development to its AmbiOS “flywheel,” where operational data improves model generalization. Its AmbiStack system reached market three times faster than its earlier AmbiSort solution by leveraging the existing Skill Suite.

CEO Jim Liefer stated that AmbiOS has been hardened within high-volume logistics and ecommerce networks responsible for moving the majority of U.S. parcel volume. By the end of 2026, the company expects its fleet to surpass 500,000 cumulative production hours, equivalent to more than 57 years of runtime, further expanding one of the industry’s largest repositories of real-world physical AI training data.
