Diodes Launches 32Gbps ReDriver for Smart Cockpits

PI3EQX32904Q

Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD) has introduced the PI3EQX32904Q, a four-channel automotive ReDriver designed to support high-speed data transmission in next-generation smart cockpit platforms.

The device delivers 32Gbps signal integrity and is engineered for automotive systems that integrate advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment, and digital instrument clusters into unified computing architectures. As vehicles increasingly rely on centralized, AI-driven processing platforms, maintaining signal integrity across high-bandwidth interfaces has become a key design challenge.

The PI3EQX32904Q is designed to support protocols including PCI Express® 5.0, SAS4, and Compute Express Link (CXL). These standards are widely used in high-performance computing systems and are now extending into automotive applications as vehicle architectures become more data-intensive.

Built on a 0.13µm silicon germanium (SiGe) BiCMOS process, the device is optimized for high-speed, low-noise data transmission. It offers improved linearity and ultra-low jitter performance, helping to ensure stable signal quality in demanding environments.

The ReDriver includes four independent differential channels that support flexible data rates and encoding schemes. This allows compatibility with evolving automotive interface standards without impacting link initialization. The device also features programmable linear equalization, output linearity, and flat gain control via I2C, enabling system designers to fine-tune signal performance based on platform requirements.

By supporting extended PCB trace lengths, the device helps reduce intersymbol interference while lowering system cost and power consumption. It is designed to improve layout flexibility in complex electronic control units used in modern vehicles.

Power efficiency is another focus. The PI3EQX32904Q supports Modern Standby (S0 Low Power Idle) mode, consuming less than 5mW in deep standby while enabling rapid wake-up for system responsiveness.

The component operates on a 3.3V supply and is qualified for automotive temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C. It is packaged in a W-QFN3063-46 form factor and is priced at $4.84 in 1,000-unit volumes.

Diodes Incorporated will showcase the PI3EQX32904Q at the PCI-SIG Developers Conference in Santa Clara, California.
