IPValue Management, Inc. has announced that one of its affiliates has granted Sandisk Corporation a worldwide, nonexclusive license to a patent portfolio originally developed by Cypress Semiconductor. The licensed assets are held by Longitude Flash Memory Solutions, Ltd. (LFMS), an IPValue affiliate focused on flash memory–related intellectual property.
The agreement allows Sandisk to operate under license to the LFMS portfolio and brings closure to all outstanding patent disputes between the parties. In parallel with the Sandisk deal, IPValue and its affiliates also executed licensing agreements covering other portfolios, fully resolving related matters.
According to IPValue, the licensing arrangement reflects a negotiated outcome aimed at balancing commercial certainty for product companies with fair value realization for patent holders. Amit Garg, Vice President of IPValue and General Manager of the LFMS program, said the discussions with Sandisk were constructive and led to an amicable resolution. He added that IPValue’s broader objective is to support innovation by enabling companies to deploy technologies without prolonged legal uncertainty, while ensuring that intellectual property is appropriately recognized.
IPValue is known for managing and licensing patent portfolios sourced from established technology innovators, working with operating companies across the semiconductor and electronics ecosystem. The Sandisk agreement underscores the continued relevance of legacy semiconductor IP in today’s memory and storage markets, where freedom to operate remains a critical consideration amid ongoing innovation and product scaling.
The terms of the license were not disclosed.
