Qnity Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: Q) has appointed semiconductor industry finance veteran Ken Rizvi as senior vice president and chief financial officer, adding an executive with more than 25 years of financial and operational experience to its leadership team.
Rizvi will take over as CFO on October 1. Michael Goss, who has been serving as interim CFO, will transition to vice president, finance and controllership.
The appointment comes as Qnity seeks to build on its position across the semiconductor value chain and capitalize on demand tied to continued semiconductor industry expansion. Rizvi brings experience spanning semiconductor design, manufacturing, memory, packaging and supply-chain businesses.
“Ken’s proven track record as a public company CFO, combined with decades of experience leading finance organizations across the semiconductor ecosystem, make him an ideal leader for our team,” Qnity CEO Jon Kemp said.
Kemp highlighted Rizvi’s experience in capital allocation, operational execution and financial discipline, saying those capabilities would support Qnity’s growth and value-creation strategy.
Rizvi most recently served as CFO of Synaptics, where he oversaw global finance, corporate development, investor relations and information technology. His tenure at the publicly traded semiconductor company added experience in managing financial operations alongside strategic and corporate development activities.
Before Synaptics, Rizvi was CFO of Smart Global Holdings, now known as Penguin Solutions, where he helped drive margin expansion and oversaw two major transactions. His previous CFO positions also include roles at UTAC Group in Singapore and Isola Group.
Earlier in his career, Rizvi held progressively senior finance positions at Micron Technology and ON Semiconductor Corporation. His career has therefore covered multiple segments of the semiconductor ecosystem, from chip design and manufacturing to memory, advanced packaging and supply-chain operations.
That breadth could be particularly relevant as semiconductor companies navigate a period of significant investment in manufacturing capacity, technology development and supply-chain resilience. Financial leadership has become increasingly important as companies balance capital expenditure, profitability and long-term investments in emerging technologies.
Rizvi said his experience in the semiconductor industry has given him an appreciation for the role of materials innovation in enabling successive generations of technology.
“Qnity has established itself as a leader in the field, and I’m excited to partner with Jon and the rest of the team to ensure the company continues to capitalize on the vast opportunities ahead,” Rizvi said.
Qnity positions itself as a technology solutions provider serving the semiconductor value chain. The company’s leadership transition will place Rizvi at the center of financial planning and capital allocation as it evaluates opportunities for growth.
Goss’s move into the finance and controllership role is expected to provide continuity during the transition. His appointment also allows Qnity to retain his experience within its finance organization while Rizvi assumes responsibility for the broader CFO function.
