Qnity Electronics (NYSE: Q) has appointed semiconductor industry veteran Kate Dei Cas as President of its Semiconductor Technologies business segment, effective August 3, as the company looks to strengthen its position across the semiconductor value chain amid rising AI-driven demand.
Dei Cas succeeds Sam Ponzo, who has been serving as interim president of the business. Ponzo will return to his role as Qnity’s Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer.
The appointment comes as semiconductor companies continue to expand leadership teams to support growing investment in advanced chip manufacturing, supply chain resilience and AI-related technologies.
Dei Cas brings more than 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. She joins Qnity from EMD Electronics, the electronics business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, where she most recently served as Executive Vice President and a member of the executive team.
During her career, she has led operational and strategic initiatives across the semiconductor sector, with experience in global supply chain management, manufacturing operations and business growth.
Qnity Chief Executive Officer Jon Kemp said Dei Cas brings extensive leadership experience and a strong track record of building high-performing organisations.
He said her expertise in operational excellence, global supply chains and strategic execution would support the company’s semiconductor business as it continues to expand.
Commenting on her appointment, Dei Cas said the semiconductor industry is entering a period of rapid transformation as artificial intelligence reshapes chip design and manufacturing.
She said Qnity has built a strong technology portfolio at a pivotal time for the industry and that she looks forward to working with customers, partners and employees to support the company’s next phase of growth.
