CSM Technologies Secures ISO 42001 Certification for AI Governance

Certified

CSM Technologies Limited (NSE: CSM | BSE: 544806) has secured ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for its Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS), adding a formal governance framework for the development and deployment of AI across its technology portfolio.

The certification, announced on August 17, follows an independent audit and covers CSM’s technology services, including software and application development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, digital transformation, IT consulting, systems integration, managed IT and cloud services, and data management and governance.

ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is the first international standard specifically designed for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems. It provides organizations with a framework for managing AI-related risks and establishing processes around governance, transparency, accountability and responsible AI use.

For CSM, the certification comes as the company expands AI-enabled services for government and enterprise customers across India, Africa and North America. The framework is intended to standardize how AI projects are governed throughout their lifecycle, from development and deployment through monitoring and risk management.

Under its AI Management System, CSM has incorporated a formal AI policy and measurable objectives into its standard operating procedures. AI projects are required to use approved tools, follow defined data classification protocols and maintain documentation throughout the development lifecycle.

The company’s Core Technology Group (CTG) is responsible for ongoing monitoring of AI usage, performance and the effectiveness of associated controls. CSM has also established a dedicated AI Risk Register through which AI-related risks are recorded, assessed, treated and closed.

The structure is designed to provide greater visibility into how AI systems are developed and operated, particularly as organizations face increasing scrutiny over data management, model risks and the use of generative AI in business and public-sector applications.

“As CSM scales its AI-led offerings across governments and enterprises in India, Africa, and North America, our clients need to know that innovation is matched by discipline,” said Priyadarshi Nanu Pany, managing director and CEO of CSM Technologies.

Pany said the certification provides independent validation of the company’s approach to AI governance, including policy, continuous oversight and risk management, and is intended to give customers greater confidence in deploying AI-based solutions at scale.

The certification adds to CSM’s existing portfolio of quality and security accreditations as the company expands the use of AI and generative AI across its GovTech, digital transformation and managed services businesses.

CSM Technologies is headquartered in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and provides GovTech and digital transformation services to government and private-sector organizations. Its technology portfolio covers sectors including mining and allied services, government and public services, agriculture, industry and trade facilitation, education, healthcare and tourism.

The company operates across multiple Indian states and has a presence in international markets including Africa, the UAE, the United States and Canada. It also develops proprietary technology platforms and invests in emerging technologies as part of its digital transformation strategy.

CSM said its technology and delivery operations are supported by standards including CMMI Development Maturity Level 5 and multiple ISO certifications.

The ISO/IEC 42001 certification gives the company a dedicated management framework for AI alongside those existing standards.
