Former NVIDIA Executive Manuvir Das Joins Western Digital Board

APPOINTED

Western Digital Corporation (Nasdaq: WDC) has appointed Manuvir Das to its board of directors, effective May 26, 2026, as the company strengthens its focus on AI infrastructure, enterprise storage technologies, and cloud computing systems.

The appointment comes as AI adoption continues accelerating across industries, driving higher demand for large-scale data storage, enterprise AI platforms, and advanced computing infrastructure.

Western Digital said Das brings extensive experience in enterprise AI, cloud computing, and data infrastructure through senior leadership roles at NVIDIA, Dell EMC, and Microsoft.

Das currently serves as an Operating Partner in the Digital Infrastructure group at Stonepeak Partners, a role he assumed in April 2025.

According to Western Digital, the appointment is intended to strengthen the company’s strategic direction in AI-enabled storage infrastructure and enterprise data systems supporting next-generation workloads.

Marty Cole said Das has a strong track record in AI, enterprise infrastructure, and cloud technologies. He added that Das’s experience in helping organizations deploy AI at scale would support Western Digital’s long-term strategy in the AI-driven data economy.

Das most recently served as Head of Enterprise Computing at NVIDIA. In that role, he led the company’s enterprise AI strategy and helped launch the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite. His work focused on making AI deployment more accessible and production-ready for enterprise customers globally.

Before joining NVIDIA, Das led Dell EMC’s unstructured data storage business. He oversaw the Isilon scale-out NAS platform and the ECS object storage platform, both widely used in enterprise and cloud environments.

Earlier in his career, Das spent 14 years at Microsoft. He was among the original engineering leaders involved in developing Microsoft Azure, the company’s cloud computing platform.

Manuvir Das said AI is reshaping the technology industry and driving extraordinary growth in data creation and infrastructure investment worldwide. He added that scalable storage systems are becoming increasingly important for enabling AI workloads at scale.

Western Digital said its board now consists of nine directors, including eight independent external members.
