Swiss AI Company Neural Concept Establishes Dedicated India Footprint

geographic expansion

Swiss AI technology company Neural Concept is establishing a direct commercial presence in India, opening teams in Bengaluru and Pune as it looks to expand the use of AI across automotive and manufacturing engineering workflows.

The move marks Neural Concept’s first dedicated footprint in India and comes as demand grows among manufacturers already using its Engineering Intelligence platform in the region, including MAHLE. The company said the local teams will provide commercial support, customer training and coordination with its global engineering organization.

India’s automotive and industrial sectors are facing pressure to shorten product development cycles as electrification, sustainability requirements and competition from Chinese automakers reshape the market. At the same time, AI is moving deeper into engineering, with tools increasingly being used across product design and simulation.

Neural Concept said its platform enables engineering teams to use AI agents to automate tasks across these workflows and evaluate a broader range of design options earlier in the development process.

“India is becoming a powerhouse for global engineering R&D, and Neural Concept is investing where talent, ambition and industrial scale are converging,” said Pierre Baqué, CEO and co-founder of Neural Concept.

India Becomes Key Engineering Market

India is the world’s third-largest automotive market and is projected to reach $278.5 billion by 2034, according to the figures cited by Neural Concept. The country also produces about 1.5 million engineering graduates annually, while global manufacturers operate large engineering and R&D centers across the country.

The combination of engineering talent and manufacturing capacity has increasingly positioned India as a development base for products destined for international markets. Neural Concept’s expansion is aimed at supporting that activity as manufacturers look to incorporate AI into engineering processes rather than limit its use to isolated experiments.

“Indian OEMs and engineering teams across the country are increasingly contributing to product programs with global reach, and they need partners who understand the local context,” said Sudhir Padaki, regional sales director, India, at Neural Concept.

The company said its India team will work with customers on onboarding and deployment of AI across design and simulation workflows while providing access to Neural Concept’s broader engineering capabilities.

Expansion Follows Global Growth

The India launch adds to Neural Concept’s international operations, which include offices in Munich, New York and Seoul.

The company has also expanded its financial base following a $100 million Series C funding round led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives.

Neural Concept’s Engineering Intelligence platform is designed to apply AI to engineering data and workflows, with applications spanning product design, simulation and optimization.

The India expansion places the company closer to one of the world’s largest automotive and manufacturing engineering ecosystems as those industries increase their use of AI in product development.

For Neural Concept, the focus will be on moving AI adoption from experimentation into engineering operations, particularly as Indian teams take on a larger role in developing products for global markets.
