Renesas Reshapes Leadership to Accelerate Semiconductor, Software and Computing Ambitions

APPOINTED

Renesas Electronics Corporation (TSE: 6723) is reorganising its senior leadership structure, appointing a new chief technology officer, expanding executive responsibilities across its computing businesses, and strengthening its software and sales leadership as it works toward its 2035 Aspiration.

The Japanese semiconductor company announced a series of executive changes on November 4, with several appointments scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027. The changes include the promotion of Stephen Limoges to senior vice president, the appointment of Vivek Bhan as CTO and head of engineering, and the consolidation of leadership responsibilities for its Embedded Processing and High Performance Computing businesses.

The restructuring also brings changes to the leadership of Software & Digitalization and Altium, the electronic design software company acquired by Renesas in 2024.

Renesas Promotes Sales Chief Stephen Limoges

Stephen Limoges will become senior vice president on January 1, 2027, while continuing as Renesas’ chief sales officer. He was appointed vice president and CSO in January 2026 and oversees the company’s global sales organisation as a member of its Enterprise Leadership Team.

Renesas said the promotion recognises his role in sharpening its go-to-market focus and expanding its customer base.

Aish Dubey to Lead Software and Digitalization

Aram Mirkazemi, senior vice president and general manager of Altium and interim head of Software & Digitalization, will leave Renesas on December 31, 2026.

Aish Dubey, currently vice president and head of the System-on-Chip (SoC) Division within the High Performance Computing Product Group, will take over as vice president and head of Software & Digitalization. He will also join the Enterprise Leadership Team.

Dubey will lead the development of software and tools delivered through Renesas 365, the company’s platform intended to help customers design and develop systems incorporating Renesas devices.

He joined Renesas in 2023 from Texas Instruments. At Renesas, he has led global strategy, product definition, and execution for the R-Car SoC family, which supports advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), automotive cockpits, gateways, and software-defined vehicle (SDV) computing platforms.

The appointment places software development under a leader with experience in automotive computing and semiconductor product strategy.

Ananth Avva Takes Interim Altium Leadership

Ananth Avva, currently vice president of Altium Discover, will become vice president and acting president of Altium while Renesas searches for a permanent leader.

Avva joined Altium in 2023 to lead its cloud platform business. His previous experience includes senior operating positions at SaaS and AI technology companies Pipefy, Wrike, and Lastline. He also held finance and operations roles at Google.

Both Dubey and Avva will report directly to Renesas CEO Hidetoshi Shibata. Mirkazemi will work with the incoming leaders to transfer responsibilities, with the appointments taking effect once the handover is complete and before his departure.

Renesas credited Mirkazemi with advancing its digitalization strategy and acknowledged his leadership during his tenure.

Gaurang Shah to Oversee Two Computing Businesses

Renesas is also bringing its Embedded Processing and High Performance Computing leadership under one executive.

Gaurang Shah, currently senior vice president and general manager of Embedded Processing, will additionally assume responsibility for the High Performance Computing Product Group on January 1, 2027. He will become senior vice president and general manager of both businesses.

The two product groups will remain separate organisations, but Shah will lead both. Renesas said the arrangement is intended to coordinate its computing strategy, concentrate resources on growth areas, and offer customers a broader portfolio spanning microcontrollers and high-performance SoCs.

The move brings together two complementary parts of Renesas’ computing portfolio under a single leadership structure.

Vivek Bhan Named CTO and Head of Engineering

Vivek Bhan, currently senior vice president and general manager of High Performance Computing, will become senior vice president, CTO, and head of engineering, effective January 1, 2027. He will report directly to Shibata.

In his new role, Bhan will oversee Renesas’ long-term technology strategy, strengthen its core intellectual property, and lead technology innovation across the company. Renesas cited his technical experience in computing, software, and system architecture, as well as his understanding of demanding customer requirements across market segments.

Ramkumar Subramanian and Manoher Bommena, who have served as interim co-heads of engineering since June 2026, will report to Bhan. Subramanian will become vice president of R&D Management, Strategic Partnerships and Business Operations, while Bommena will serve as vice president of Engineering.

The appointments establish a new reporting structure for engineering and technology development.
