Enterprise software company Glean has expanded its presence in Australia, establishing a local legal entity and increasing investment in the region. The development comes as organisations across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) move from early experimentation with artificial intelligence to broader, enterprise-level deployment.
The company said it plans to nearly double its in-market workforce over the next year. The expansion is aimed at strengthening support for customers and partners, while enabling closer engagement with enterprises adopting AI at scale.
Across ANZ, businesses are entering a more advanced phase of AI adoption. Initial pilot programs are giving way to wider implementation across departments and functions. This shift is bringing new operational challenges. Companies must integrate AI with existing systems, manage fragmented data environments, and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
Australia is considered one of the most mature digital markets in the Asia-Pacific region. However, many organisations continue to operate in complex technology ecosystems. Multiple applications, limited interoperability, and siloed information remain common. At the same time, expectations around data sovereignty, privacy, and governance are increasing, particularly in regulated industries.
Glean said its platform is designed to operate within these environments by connecting enterprise data, applications, and workflows. The system integrates organisational knowledge with access controls and permissions, allowing companies to deploy AI while maintaining oversight of data usage.
“We’re expanding in Australia because the demand is real,” said Arvind Jain, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Glean. “Organisations across Australia and New Zealand are moving quickly to make AI useful inside the enterprise. The requirement now is for solutions that are connected to internal systems and built with security and governance at the core.”
The expansion follows a period of sustained growth for the company. Glean reported surpassing $200 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in December 2025. This milestone was reached within nine months of crossing $100 million ARR. The company has also more than tripled its enterprise customer base over the past two years, reflecting increasing demand for integrated AI platforms.
The shift toward enterprise-wide AI adoption is visible across key sectors in ANZ. Industries such as technology, financial services, telecommunications, and media are investing in systems that can operate across business functions while maintaining compliance standards.
Glean has already established a customer base in the region. Its clients include Optus, Canva, Xero, and REA Group. The company said its ANZ customer base has grown by more than 60 percent over the past year.
“There is strong demand for AI that can operate across the enterprise,” said Amar Maletira, Chief Operating Officer at Glean. “Organisations are dealing with fragmented systems and increasing expectations around trust and data protection. They are looking for solutions that can bring together information, permissions, and workflows in a consistent and secure way.”
As part of its regional strategy, Glean is working with technology partners including Amazon Web Services, Snowflake, and Mantel Group. These partnerships are intended to support enterprises in deploying AI on existing cloud and data infrastructure without significant disruption.
