MotionTech has entered the US market as the European automation company seeks to expand its presence in North America and build a dedicated commercial and service operation.
The company has appointed Kristian Hulgard as Executive Sales Director for the US market, effective immediately. Based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Hulgard will lead the company’s North American expansion and oversee efforts to develop its customer and distribution network.
MotionTech’s initial US offering will focus on end-of-line packaging, storage systems and conveying solutions. The company plans to expand its commercial and service capabilities over time to provide broader support for customers adopting automation technologies.
The US launch follows established demand for MotionTech’s products in the market. The company said it has completed more than 30 installations for US customers in recent years. These include projects with warehouse automation companies Dematic and Knapp.
MotionTech said customers have increasingly sought a local contact for sales and service, prompting the company to establish a dedicated presence in the country.
“Customers have repeatedly asked for a dedicated local point of contact for both sales and service,” said Louise Ringström Grandinson, CEO of MotionTech.
Hulgard will be responsible for building the company’s commercial operations from the ground up. His priorities include expanding customer outreach, developing a distribution network and establishing local sales and service capabilities.
“The US represents an enormous opportunity,” Hulgard said. “American manufacturers and distributors are investing heavily in automation to stay competitive, and MotionTech brings exactly the kind of proven, high-quality technology they’re looking for.”
MotionTech’s move comes as manufacturers, distributors and logistics operators in the US continue to invest in automation to improve throughput, material handling and operational efficiency. End-of-line packaging and warehouse automation are among the areas where companies are deploying automated systems to address changing labour and productivity requirements.
The company said Dallas-Fort Worth will serve as the base for its US operations, providing a location from which it can support customers across North America. The regional hub is also expected to support the development of the company’s local commercial infrastructure.
MotionTech has built its business in Europe around automation and material-handling technologies. Its portfolio includes packaging, conveying and storage systems designed for industrial and logistics applications.
The company said its US operations will begin ramping up immediately under Hulgard’s leadership. The expansion is intended to build on existing installations while creating a broader local presence for future projects.
“We are delighted to have Kristian leading this effort,” Grandinson said. “His experience building commercial operations and the combined strengths of our different technologies, gives us real confidence as we enter one of the world’s most dynamic markets.”
